How to use Google PageSpeed Insights
If you own a website and it’s taking more time to load, you may need to utilize tools to check its health. One of the most reliable and free-to-use applications is Google PageSpeed Insights. But what does it do and what are some of its handy features?
What is Google PageSpeed?
Google PageSpeed Insights is a free software tool that helps you find and fix issues if your web application is slowing down gradually. An open-source tool called Lighthouse gathers and analyzes information that is integrated with real-world data from the User Experience end Report. The result is a score that summarizes performance and a series of recommendations on what you can do to make your website faster.
You can use a different kind of set up with the impact of different metrics on the result using the Lighthouse Scoring Calculator. The performance score is an average of metric scores and the weight of each metric is a representation of the user’s perception of analysis.
How does it work?
First thing you need to do is go to Google and search for Google PageSpeed; you may or may not consider ‘Insight’ in your search query. Now that you are on the page, all you need to do is type in the website in the search bar.
